More driving...

This is an addition to my previous post. I forgot to mention about driving by an active volcano. In this video you can sort of see it. When I point the camera to the left, you may notice the cloudy formation, the best glimpse of it is around the middle of the clip. That's actually the smoke plume from the volcano - or more specifically, the Halema‘uma‘u Crater . It's been pretty bad since March and is pumping dangerous amounts of sulfur dioxide into the air. At the town where I visited, many of the residents are suffering from various respiratory problems. That's not the only volcanic activity. There's other areas of lava spewing out and flowing into the ocean.

A day in my job on the big island

Hi everyone. I just wanted to share a bit of my experiences on my job which involves a lot of driving on the big island in Hawaii. First off, here is an example of the range of climates on the island:

Not bad eh? And that was just in driving 50 miles.

On this dayt, we went to Punalu'u Beach. It's got a black sand beach, turtles, and ducks.

And here's a video of a turtle.

So there you have a typical day in my job. What do you think?
