Mom's cooking class

Hare Krishna!

Dear Kids,

Abhay has been pushing me to cook the traditional mom’s “Explosion Dahl”.

Well…here are the pictures that Abhay took of this historical event...

First you boil the Dahl...(I used moong dahl)

...than you heat the ghee, jeera and hing in a spoon...

...let the ghee get VERY hot until it catches on fire...

...than you pour the fiery hot ghee-spice mixture into the boiling Dahl...

...Bhoom!! here comes the explosion...!!!

...Now we are smoking...

Don't forget to offer this delicious dahl to Krishna.

I remember when some of you used to run into the kitchen to watch mom’s “witch craft”. :-)

Warning: Don’t try this at home without your mother’s supervision!

Love,

Mama

P.S.

The dahl came out fantastic

Pride Parade 2008

Julien and I walked in the 2008 Gay Pride Parade on Sunday. We walked with my Men's group called Atlas. We had one of the largest attended groups in the parade. It was not as hot as it was last year and we had a great time. There were some real characters.

Julien got a little tired towards the end so he got a free ride on Dad's shoulders.

This was our group, Atlas. "Building a future where HIV transmission is rare" is our mission statement.

These are three of the Cycle Sluts. They must have parked their Motorcycles somewhere else. They are a real hoot.

He is pretty.

He is shiny.
He is cool!

May Day

Hi every one. I'm posting here some pictures and clips of Graeme on May Day, an event here where they celebrate traditional Hawaiian culture. Graeme is wearing black and red is pretty much the only kid with flowing blond hair.
